Clarinda Correctional Facility Hosts Community Glow Run

The Clarinda Correctional Facility hosted its first annual free Glow Run/Walk on Saturday September 15, 2018.  The event allowed runners and walkers from the community to participate in a 5-K event that was designed for them to meet our staff, see the prison and campus and enjoy a wonderful evening.  The event had approximately 75 participates that either ran or walked the course that consisted two laps around our perimeter and through our campus.

Plaques were awarded to first place runners for both the men’s and women’s division.  There had some outstanding runners!

The top female time was 21:28.89 and the top male time was 24:05.99.

Free will donations were accepted and $319.00 was raised for local victims of crime organizations.  The event was a huge success and plans are already being discussed for next years event.
