Prison inmate Freddie Drinkard dies

IOWA CITY – Freddie Owen Drinkard was pronounced dead due to natural causes (not COVID-19 related) at 1:04 a.m. this morning at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics. Drinkard was 85 years old at the time of his death.
Drinkard had been serving a 25-year sentence for the crime of Sexual Abuse 2nd Degree from Johnson County. His sentence began on October 13, 2006.
