Prison inmate Calvin Pearson dies

(ANAMOSA) – Calvin Pearson was pronounced dead due to apparent suicide at 8:03 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the Jones Regional Medical Center where he had been taken. Pearson was 52 years old at the time of his death.
Pearson had been incarcerated at the Anamosa State Penitentiary for two convictions of Robbery- 2nd Degree (711.3) from Johnson County. His incarceration began on November 2, 2010.
The department conducts an investigation into all inmate suicides, and an autopsy will be conducted.
