Prison inmate Carmon Lyddon dies

CORALVILLE – Carmon Noel Lyddon was pronounced dead due to natural causes at 8:11 a.m. on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at the Iowa Medical and Classification Center.  Lyddon was 75 years old at the time of his death. 

His convictions were for four convictions of the crime of Indecent Contact with a Child (709.12), Special Sentence Revocation 1st Offense (908.5[2]A), Special Sentence Revocation 2nd or Subsequent Offense (908.5[2]B), and four special sentence modifications of Special Sentence D Felony or Misdemeanors/10 Years Parole (903B.2). All convictions were from Polk County. 

The incident remains under investigation.
