Prison Inmate Mark Cockerham Dies
ROCKWELL CITY – Mark William Cockerham was pronounced dead due to an unexpected medical emergency at 9:12 a.m. on Friday, March 24, 2023 at the North Central Correctional Facility. Cockerham was 53 years old at the time of his death. An autopsy will be conducted by the State Medical Examiner to determine cause of death. No foul play is suspected.
Cockerham had been serving a 15-year maximum term for the crime of Prohibited Acts - Manufacture, Delivery, Conspiracy, or Possession with Intent - Meth and other charges from Polk County. His sentence began on August 19, 2022.
