Jared Nobbe was appointed as the Director of the 3rd District in Oct. 2024. Nobbe brings over a decade of experience in community-based corrections and criminal justice and succeeded Maureen Hansen, who officially retired after a remarkable 34-year career with the department.
Nobbe has been a dedicated member of the DOC since 2012, progressing through roles of increasing responsibility. Most recently, he served as the Probation/Parole Supervisor for the 3rd District, where he supervised the Department's Sex Offender Treatment Program and oversaw critical initiatives such as the Re-Entry and Incentive Program. Nobbe’s leadership and expertise in risk assessment, investigations, and continuous quality improvement (CQI) make him uniquely qualified to step into this new role.
In addition to his extensive corrections experience, Nobbe holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Wayne State College.
“We are excited to have Jared take the helm of the 3rd District," said DOC Director Beth Skinner. "His strong track record of leadership, combined with his deep knowledge of community-based corrections, will serve the district well as we continue our mission. His commitment to our core values and his focus on innovative practices make him the ideal leader for the district.”
Deputy Director Sally Kreamer echoed Skinner’s enthusiasm. “Jared has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication throughout his tenure. His ability to build strong partnerships with staff and the community will be instrumental in continuing to move the district forward. We are confident that he will excel in this new position and continue to make a positive impact on the lives of those under our supervision.”
Nobbe’s tenure as Director will focus on enhancing service delivery, advancing evidence-based practices, and ensuring the safety and security of both staff and the community. His extensive background in risk management and offender supervision will guide his approach in leading the district through future challenges and opportunities.
