Prison Inmate Rick Brandes Dies
IOWA CITY – Rick Anthony Brandes was pronounced dead due to natural causes at approximately 8:10 a.m. on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Brandes was 60 years old at the time of his death.
Brandes had been serving a life sentence for the crime of Kidnapping 1st Degree from Chickasaw County. His sentence began on March 29, 2006.
