NEWTON, Iowa – Malga Harun Yanga was pronounced dead at 6:06 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2024 at the Newton Correctional Facility. Yanga was 23 years old at the time of his death.
Yanga had been serving a life special sentence from Buena Vista County. His sentence began on Aug. 17, 2020.
