NEWTON, Iowa – Chad William Burmester was pronounced dead at 12:09 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025 at Mercy One Hospital in Newton. Burmester was 53 years old at the time of his death.
Burmester had been serving a 20-year term for crimes from Black Hawk County. His sentence began on Jan. 23, 2007.
