CORALVILLE, Iowa – Elmer Clay Dowler was pronounced dead at 11:13 p.m. on Friday, April 25, 2025 in a hospice room of the Iowa Medical and Classification Center. Dowler was 85 years old at the time of his death.

Dowler had been serving for crimes from Black Hawk County. His sentence began on Sept. 25, 2011.
